Gastric Bypass Revision

For patients who have previously undergone Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and experienced weight regain, Transoral Outlet Reduction (TORe) offers a safe, non-surgical solution to get you back on track. As a completely non-surgical procedure, TORe is performed using the Apollo Revise™ System, effectively revising the anatomy of the stomach pouch and outlet, restoring restriction to support sustainable weight loss without the need for additional surgery.

Diet Plan Following TORe Revision:

A careful, progressive diet plan following TORe is essential for effective recovery and weight loss. Here’s a guide to follow in the weeks after the procedure:

  1. Phase 1: Liquid Diet (Days 1–7)

    • Focus on clear liquids and gradually add full liquids like protein shakes, low-sodium broths, unsweetened juices, and herbal teas.

    • Drink slowly and aim for small sips throughout the day to stay hydrated.

  2. Phase 2: Pureed Diet (Weeks 2–3)

    • Incorporate nutrient-dense pureed foods, such as blended vegetables, soups, Greek yogurt, and mashed fruits.

    • Continue focusing on small portions and avoid adding any sugar or fat.

  3. Phase 3: Soft Foods (Weeks 4–5)

    • Gradually add soft foods like scrambled eggs, soft fish, cooked vegetables, and cottage cheese.

    • Chew thoroughly and eat slowly to avoid discomfort.

  4. Phase 4: Transition to Regular Foods (Week 6+)

    • Begin incorporating regular foods slowly, focusing on lean proteins, vegetables, and whole grains.

    • Avoid high-sugar and high-fat foods, and continue practicing portion control to maintain the effects of the TORe procedure.

How it works:

Over time, changes in the stomach anatomy, like stretching of the stomach outlet or pouch, can lessen the effectiveness of an initial gastric bypass. TORe addresses these issues by reducing the outlet size (stoma) and sometimes the stomach pouch itself. This procedure helps restore restriction and satiety, allowing patients to manage portion sizes effectively.

Using an endoscopic device introduced through the mouth, TORe allows the physician to suture and tighten the stomach outlet without any external incisions or surgery. This advanced, minimally invasive technique provides patients with a faster recovery, fewer risks, and the advantages of a completely non-surgical approach.

Benefits of TORe with the Apollo Revise System:

  • Non-Surgical & Minimally Invasive: Performed entirely through the mouth, TORe involves no external scars, incisions, or surgery.

  • Restores Restriction: Reducing the outlet size helps you feel full with smaller portions, supporting weight loss.

  • Quicker Recovery: Most patients experience a shorter recovery time compared to traditional revision surgery.

  • Long-Lasting Results: TORe addresses anatomical changes, helping you regain control over your weight management journey.

TORe Iis Is TORe Right for You?

TORE is particularly effective for those who have had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass but face challenges with weight regain due to anatomical changes in their stomach. It is an excellent option for individuals seeking a completely non-surgical, minimally invasive solution to restore weight loss support and regain control over their health
